What gender is my leopard tortoise?

Hey all!

I'm wondering if you can help me determine the sex of my 8 year old leopard tortoise. I've attached a picture and would love know what you think. A few things I've seen recently have made me wonder if I was told the wrong gender by the previous owner.

The anal scutes look female, however, the tail is sort of big for a female. But I'm goin' with female.

Are you sure of the age? What size is this tortoise?

This one still looks very juvenile and sort of in the middle. It is not obvious one way or the other and by 8 years it ought to be obvious.

Thanks for the welcome .

So Lilly the tortoise was sold to me as female, so it's sounds like that is most likely correct.
To answer your questions, Tom, her shell is approximately 30cm long. Her previous owner told me she'd bought her as a baby tort who'd been born in the October of 2006 and I got her in February 2011... So I'm pretty sure that makes her 8, although maths isn't my strongest subject .
