That's shell fungus. Get a cheap anti fungal cream and apply it to the area for a few days. That will knock it out.

Can monistat work
Looking at the tube I have I think the ingredient your looking for is "Clotrimazole"
Or miconazole. Either will work I think.
And the cause of that is the substrate being too wet too much of the time.

Yes you're right! The cream I happen to have on hand is doing a really good job. He doesn't mind laying on his back while I let the cream have time to soak in. Long as he gets his head rubbed and a fresh strawberry from the garden afterwards. He actually comes looking for me now since I was late today. It's been really rainy so I figured we were going to have a problem. We had a dry couple days so that should help.
