These are photos of my new baby western hermanns tortoise. I got him in the mail yesterday and this is his enclosure. It is a cement mixing tub that is 3 feet by 2 feet and 8 inches high. I use a mixture of top soil and play sand as well as sphagnum moss for hiding and burrowing. I have a mercury vapor bulb 100 W. and an infrared thermometer gun to check temperatures. Currently enclosure temperature is 77 degrees at night and basking temperatures are between 95 and 100 degrees. The hide is the same as the nighttime temperature.
