I thought I read somewhere that water hyacinths were OK for torts (Greek) but now can't find it. Just want to check before I offer it to Turtle, here is a link with a picture. I have access to a backyard pond and it's full of them so hopefully it's OK for him!

Well, I just found it! I knew I would as soon as I posted. Anyway, it says they can eat the roots and leaves...does anyone know if they can eat the flowers too?
I found it here: http://www.tortoise.org/general/tttplant.html

My Cuora box turtle eats them all, so I see no reason why a tort can't.

Thanks!
To say he has found his new very favorite thing would be a total understatement!! He couldn't believe his good fortune this morning when he toddled over to his breakfast bowl. He ate a leaf, OK, gobbled it and then saw the flower. If a tortoise can really show delight on his face Turtle did. I swear he was grinning.
Looks like I'll be gathering a bigger bunch than I did last night!
