Northern thank you her head didnt match the red foots I have seen so thank you..No question it's a Redfoot. The Northern form you likely have here, although variable, are generally yellow on the top of the head. They are not exclusively forest dwellers.
They are found in a variety of habitats from forest edges and openings to savannah and dry scrub across South America. Domesticated? While they can be quite personable and approachable in captivity and can be purchased from many sources, they are, and always will be, no matter how "friendly" you think they may become, wild animals. Get him as much time outside in the warmer months with sunlight, shade to retreat to when he wants, places to hide, fresh air, water and graze and he has
a chance to become what he was meant to be.
