Well, my hubby finally got in the misting system for Wasyl.
She seems to really be enjoying this much more than me misting her enclosure everyday.
As of August 30th she weighs in at 1.5lbs. Not sure if this is okay or not but she seems healthy!

If you use metric (grams/kilograms) and you get a Straight Carapace Length (SCL) in centimeters, you can use the Donoghue formula to estimate a healthy weight for your tortoise and calculate a body mass index given it's current weight in relation to the Donoghue estimate.

Here's more information on this:

Fascinating!

Estimates for hatchling and small tortoises are not as accurate as sub-adult and adults. It still gives you a good idea for the little guys though.

Are you using the zoo med mister? I'm currently using a cheap humidifier I already had but want to upgrade soon. She is really cute btw. :)

Did you make your own enclosure? I really like the wood framing with the glass. How did you go about doing it if you did in fact make it yourself?

I just noticed the water dish looks a little low. You could fill it 1/2 to 3/4 full and I'm sure Wasyl will love it! Maybe you did previously and she decided to do a cannon-ball into the water dish? :D Mine do this.

Great looking enclosure and beautiful little tort!
