Hi all! I live in the Boulder Colorado area. I have set up a tortoise enclosure for a small tortoise friend. I would prefer a greek, Russian, or herman. Any suggestions on where I can find one in Colorado, or if there are any breeders in colorado?

Hi McKenzie,

I would recommend looking on Craigslist (which is where I've found all four of my Russians). I'd assume that you'll find one and start going through the Russian sub-forum here on TFO:

Also, this post on care for any/all temperate species:

Good luck!

Great... and keep asking questions as they occur to you.

Meantime, if you're interested, here's a link to my blog with pics of my torts: https://www.thecreepnextdoor.com/p/the-creep.html

Hey McKenzie, I'm looking for a tort, too & I'm right here in Boulder. I joined the forum a couple of weeks ago, so I'm studying hard before I buy.

I'm looking for a cherry head or red foot. Someone just posted a few minutes ago that she's selling her Russian but she's in the State of Washington.

This site is great for expert advice, so don't hesitate with questions. Jamie's blog at Modern Tortoise, which I just read last night, is excellent!!

Hope we can compare pictures soon.
