I bought a Zilla Slimline dessert fixture to use in my RT hatchling's habitat. Now I'm doing some reading about how UVB can't penetrate plastic (the fixture is enclosed). So now I'm concerned that my baby is not even getting UVB like he's supposed to. Thanks in advance for the help!

You mean that the hood is where the bulb is set into and then there is a plastic shield across the lights? Why not remove the plastic shield?

Yes, I can remove it and did. But how can companies sell stuff like this and get away with saying it will give your reptile uvb and it does not because the uvb does not penetrate plastic?! That is horrible.
