Urates

I was soaking my 2 year old Sulcata today and he (not sure the sex actually) did something pretty weird. First he expelled some urates. No big deal. But then he stood for a while with his back legs really wide. I could see that he was struggling with something. Then I saw this pink tissue start to poke out of his rear end. It would poke in and out and then dropped quite a large pile of urates. He did this 3 times. Each time the pink tissue kept poking out. After he was done he took a large poop. Then he became quite chipper.

Any insight on this behavior??

Also, he could have been really struggling to get the goods out...do you soak the tort regularly? Does the tort have access to regular exercise and also natural sun time....
