Is it safe to use untreated lumber in an enclosure?

I received two eastern's from Chris yesterday and so far they are doing great. My enclosure has sliding glass on the front and I thought there would be enough of a lip to keep them from seeing through it. Turns out I was wrong and they kept climbing up it yesterday. This morning I placed some untreated wood in the enclosure to create a visual barrier. From what I read this should be fine since it is untreated pine, but want to ask just in case.

I use any kind of lumber I can get my hands on (I'm a scrap lumber hoarder!). I think untreated pine is ok to use. I'm pretty sure now-a-days lumber is kiln dried, so you don't have to worry about it.

I was curious about wood as well. Like to build something grand but worried about urine and moisture absorbtion, mold and things of that nature.
