The lecture was nice to be involved in. Probably not worth the hour drive, but you never know. Dr. Nagy was entertaining and very informative though. He was able to compare Desert Tortoises adaptations to living in the desert to those of other animals, such as mice, lizards and jack rabbits. Most interesting fact I took away was not able DT, but rather jack rabbits. In a natural habitat, not including those in city limits and near agricultural hydration, 75-90% of Jack Rabbits die off during the summer. The 10-25% repopulates the area over the winter.
