The other day I noticed this tree in the yard, and I thought it looked like it might be some type of mulberry (the leaves look very similar to a mulberry that I purchased a few years ago). While I have multiple degrees in biology- botany is not something that I ever took or know much about. So I want to poll the audience- what do you guys think it is?

It’s sort of off in a corner of the yard getting very crowded out. If it’s what I’m hoping, I can clean up around it and give it a chance to grow better.

Looks like mulberry to me too. I have a couple mulberry trees on my property and each tree has different shaped leaves on it. I mean to say, one tree has many different shaped leaves. So it's hard to pinpoint a species by looking at a leaf. When you pick the leaf off does it bleed white?

Yes. It’s bleeds a watery white. You can see a little bit on the end of the stem where I broke the leaf off, and some on the leave where the stem touched.
