I have these two young sprouting trees that are growing in my back yard. I didn’t plant them there and they seemed to have come out of nowhere. I’ve compared the leaves to those of neighbors around and they don’t match. I know they are deciduous as this is their second summer, if that helps anyone with identifying them. I believe they are both mulberry trees (Morus alba) from online searches but the leaves are very different on both of them.

Just want to make sure I’m correct before I feed them to my tortoises and if they are mulberry then I need to move them from where they currently are growing before they get too big.

Looks like mulberry trees. Someone has mulberry trees with fruit and birds have given you a gift! I have a large mulberry tree and it has both of those type leaves on it.

Makes sense, I know there are some “wild” Amazon parrots that come hang out next door to eat nuts. So they probably are the ones who brought these mulberry over.

We have a large colony of “wild” amazon parrots in Orange County.
