Horsefield with bad eye

Hi all

5 days ago I bought my horsefield tortoise, he/she is around 8 months old. I have it housed in a tortoise table and I used top/soil and sand mix bought from pet shop. I noticed he/she had some grit in its eye the first night I got him/her so immediately changed to herbifloor terrain.
I have been wiping eye with warm boiled salty water but eye has got worse, I am new to owning a tortoise so I am very worried there is serious damage or it could be infected. I have attached photos of good eye and bad eye.

Hi, I would find myself a reptile vet asap if I were you. This because this has been going on for a few days, you've seen something in his eye and it's getting worse. I wouldn't play doctor myself anymore in this case.

What kind of lamps are you using (basking lamp and uvb)?.
