Depends on where you live in the world as to what types of plants will thrive as well.....pools can be created by either digging out a shallow pallet in the ground and lining it with concrete smoothing out jagged chunks but not so smooth that the tort can not get traction going in or out...or you can do the concrete and then press in river rocks for traction and a bit more natural look--also would be easier on their shell ...or you can use large plant saucers...or you can use water heater drip pans...or washing machine drip pan,,you can use a variety of goodies,..
