Tortoise humping issue

I noticed my tortoise humping the same rock a few times today. He mounts the rock and then sticks his neck out far and opens his mouth really big. I am not concerned about that behavior.

What I am concerned about is that is penis does not come out during this time. I just want to make sure he is not 'stuck' or in any pain. Should his penis come out when he is doing this or is this normal behavior.

He is set for his annual check up next month, just wondering if I should go sooner.

Otherwise he is eating and pooping and peeing totally normal. He is an 11 year old Greek.

As long as his penis goes back in he should be fine. My male greek does this as well.

I think that as long as he is behaving and acting normally he’ll be ok.

My husband said the way we had 3 small rocks in a row he probably thought it was another tortoise by the shape LOL

We moved the rocks around and no humping today LOL
