I kept my India star tortoise in sun for 2 hours after which he is not moving or responding to any touch. It is April month going in India, summer season. Can tortoise go in hibernation in summers?

The eyelids are partially open but there is no movement and stiffness seems in hands and legs.

Is my tortoise dead or under hibernation ?
Please help me as soon as possible.

Thank you

Was it out in the direct hot sun with no shade? It’s possible your tort got severely over heated (it’s not hibernating). Have you tried to carefully soak in warm (not hot) water to help rehydrate your little tort.

A brumating tortoise will always move when you touch it. To me it sounds like your tortoise is dead.
