I am a first time tortoise owner. I received this greek baby (intergrade) as a young hatchling in early 2019. I've done a great deal of research and educating myself on his care- but I've never actually met another person who keeps tortoise(s), aside from meeting with my torts breeder, so my only hands on experience is with my own animal.

Every once and awhile I get anxious about how my guy is doing, and want to make sure I'm not missing anything since I have nothing to compare to, and an inexperienced eye.

So any thoughts from those with experience on how Atlas looks? They are just shy of 4in SCL (probably around 3.9in).

Excellent, smooth growth. You're doing a fabulous job. Definitely keep it up! When he/she reaches 5" in size, we can determine gender. I’ve had the best luck knowing gender when my torts reach that size.

I remember you got your Atlas a month or two before I got my Atlas! (the dark Moroccan). So mine says hello to yours!

Thanks! My Atlas is the first tortoise I've actually held in my hands, so it's a bit intimidating knowing if everything is going well! I'm not too concerned about what sex Atlas is yet, I think we are probably still a year or so off finding out.

Your Atlas is gorgeous! I believe I got my Atlas June 2019, I think they are a similar age to yours. ?

All looks great to me. Here is the most recently updated care sheet. There might be new or different info than what you've seen previously:

I'll check it out! I think the last time I went through a care sheet was last year.
