These two beautiful ladies came to me this morning.
The previous owners had a 9 hour round trip drive and wouldn't even accept money for fuel!
These will be part of my permanent collection. Once quarantined.
They will be staying with me, by request.
They will join the other 4 females at the very beginning of November. And I'll likely blow out a wall of my permanent pen and ad another 100 or so square feet and another night house.
That'll be an other post.
Thank you TFO member for allowing me to take over the care of your beloved tortoises.

Its interesting to note the agression already exhibited by these two.
Subtle.
But real.
And these are REDFOOT FEMALES. And still immature.....The ones commonly known to be the most easy going.
Even Redfoot don't work in pairs.

What signs of agression. I just got a red foot baby, it is a loan but if it were not I would need to recognize aggressive signs.
In this case its constant following, nudging and the need for a face to face confrontation even with over 140 square feet of densely covered enclosure.
This will surely get worse.
But likely go away in the presence of another 4 females.
Having multiple tortoises keeps any one tortoise from getting harrassed all of the time.
It's very stressful for them.
I may place a devider in there for now.
I'll watch them for another 24 hours.
Luckily, they're both a nice weight and they're both eating very well. So it's not a giant issue.
