Location (City and/or State)
The Catskill Mountains of New York State
Testudo graeca annamurensis, is so named because it is found around the locale of Anamur,Turkey. But it is not the only Greek subspecies found in Turkey. Testudo (graeca) ibera are also widespread throughout the country. T. g. annamurensis and T. ibera look distinctly different from each other. Ibera are "typical" tortoise in appearance. Anamur actually look much more like a Marginated tortoise, T. marginata but are either very speckled or solid black. A photo of a male Anamur that I had is below.

Thank you very much! I have also now a full grown male and i am searching for femals. I was half an hour too late to get a few ...
It is difficult to find them in Eirope because only very few people have them.
Thank you for your informative answer.
