Firstly, is this the "pe1" everyone is talking about?

Also. There is a pretty good deal going on locally. There is a Cen-Tech Non-Contact Laser Thermometer for $27 (reg price $60).

I am just wondering if it is better than the Pe1 persay or will it not do what I want (measure basking/enclosure temperatures at ground level)?

How does the Cen-Tech measure up to the pe2?

The cen-tech one says it has an accuracy of +/- 3 degrees F or 2%
