Spotted Two Box Turtles Today

One was completely up and the other was just poking out of the leaves a little.We got about a half inch of rain last night and temps today up in the 70s had something to do with the early arrival. I don't think they will stay active because the next few days are supposed in the 50s. It was nice to see them today even though it may have been brief visit.

I had temperatures in the 70’s yesterday also and had 1 surface. I was slightly concerned because we haven’t had a winter this mild before and it’s the earliest Iv had one pop up. I checked today after having cooler weather come through and she was buried back down.

They are going to get another 2 day tease of warm temps. This morning he was already poking his head out.Today and tomorrow near 80 then the weekend temps in the mid to low 50s. They have been dealing with spring temperature swings for many many years so they will be fine.
