The sequence of images sorta looks like eggs laid in April hatch to semi grown neonates by May. Extra good husbandry!!!! Ha Ha

Great looking tortoises. All my eggs are round not oblong. Maybe mine are no good.

I forgot about this thread, and have subsequently had three clutches of eggs listed out in another thread http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/spekii.149643/
So I didn't see your incubation schedule until again just today. Another person who has hatched some out here in the US suggested a cool down period. The clutch that was laid in Dec had two months on incubation at 86F then two months with a range roughly 64 to 78?, and now again in an incubator at 83F.

I think I'll let the other two clutches go at a constant 83F.

I should have looked back through your post Juli11. :(

I hope at least one treatment leads to hatching eggs.

Yes will haha :D i think this "cool down" period is important.
If you look back in this thread you'll see that my female laid here eggs around October. But I just find them in February. So these three eggs with a 100% hatching quote and without anomalies was in the terrarium for around 3-4 months. I think the Temperatur in the ground was around 23-26C degrees and very very dry because I simulate the dry period in this time.

Haha I mean that not all hinge back species have the same hinge. Some have a "better" hinge. This thread is about the Spekes hinge back tortoise and this species haven't got such a good hinge like the homes hinge back tortoise for example.

Not quite true. Believe is more a condition that comes with age as I have seen a pic of an old(male?) smooth shell Spekes with very developed hinge at this link: http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=50&de=1172527. Also Isn't it generally true that the tortoises that stay fairly small for their species do not develop much of a hinge or not until later on? Incidentally the 3 girls from this ad are with me now eating like pigs and thriving.:D!

They get a new enclosure because they become to big for the old one.
Doing very well because they can move now :)

Right one of the adult egg laying female left one subadult female.
What do you think? 1-3 years I think she will need to become adult...
