special treat for RTs?

I have a new adult RT that I just got. He ate his first day but not yesterday or today. I have soaked him twice. Is there a special treat that RTs LOVE? I know I have to give him time to acclimate, but once he feels comfortable I want to make sure he begins to eat. Any suggestions out there among all you long time RT owners?

Most tortoises are stimulated by colors, but this also depends on what the previous owner fed him. Try yellow dandelion flowers, red hibiscus flowers, and a lot of tortoises just love cucumbers. Mine love lavatera flowers if you can find those from a long established plant.

thank you that gives me some good ideas. My husband mows our dandelions down so I don't have those, but I do have hibiscus flowers available. I can get cucumber. thanks again.

Both the Dandelion flowers AND the leaves are edible.

Whoa whoa whoa... These two things are mutually exclusive. You can't be a tortoise owner AND mow down your dandelions. Tell hubby he can't go around wrecking the tortoise food.

yeah I know, but he does dog training in our fields and likes to have the grass nice for the dogs and people. LOL
