Here are a few pics of some of the almost spine-less(no long spines) opuntia that I grow in Virginia near the Potomac River. Do any other forum members grow any that look similar to any of these? If so where are you located.

Do you have any pictures of the blossums? Looks to be humifusa but upright habit baffles me.

I have the varieties of 1-4. But the last ones I do not. Those are some awesome succulents.

Here are a few more that don't have many spines, the first one is very tender I brought a pad back from a trip I took to Portland OR, about 7 years ago, after many experiments with winter temps and almost killing it, I have decided just to bring it in when it gets cold.- it was being sold as people food- The next 2 seem to stay very small, the 4th is 1 of the 200 pads of the spine-less humifusa that I potted last year, the 5th looks a lot like the one from Oregon ( i got it from Arizona) so I will dig it up this fall. The last 3 pics in the first set, I have names for them, but can't find the list, all I remember is that they are in the opuntia group.

I have become officially envious of your cacti!

Now I must grow some.

Question: Do you bring the pots in in the winter?

I live near the Potomac River in Maryland. Ride the C & O canal a lot on bikes.
