i noticed my tortoise has a little skinned foot, sort of like a skinned knee on a human, very small on the bottom of both of her feet. she is a rescue and she does have a bit of trouble in her form of walking. there is hay strewn around in her enclosure but , could that be it? when i let her out for a few hours she is walking on grass. should i change her substrate to all coco coir instead of half and half? she likes to burrow thats why i put the timothy hay in there. it looks to be healed up, but i do not want it to re-open. exercise is really imprtant but should i give her a few days break? when i saw them i used warm water on a soft clean rag to cleanse the area. what else can i do?[/align]

Was the tortoises housed on concrete or something else abrasive? How old and what size is your tortoise? Can you post a pic of the affected area?

The only times she is on concrete is when she might step onto it off the lawn, heading to the other grass area. Could that be it? I almost want to knit her some little socks.
