Hi all.

We came home from a week away (someone was home every day to check etc. on the turtles) and noticed one of our turtles had an "enlarged tail". Photo of the turtle with small tail for control (they both had small like that before) and one is much larger and white at the tip. Today when I lifted it something seemed to stick out of it. worm? penis? something else? I've contacted the vet but she is very buzy so I havent heard back from her yet.
have any of you been around this? Greek landtortoise By the way :)
:)

The last photo is the tip of the penis coming out. Nothing to worry about. You've got a young male.

Also, these all look like Hermann's tortoises to me rather than Greeks. The third photo appears to be a western Hermanns, while I am not confident on the other two. The plastron on the second tortoise does look like more of a Greek pattern, yet I think I see the characteristic spike/nail/claw at the tip of the tail.

It would help confirm the subspecies if you could rinse off the tortoises and take some more photos from different angles.

Right. good to know :) He is abit agressive towards the other one. Might be a male thing then. hehe.

First one is Charizard. Marked with a red dot and less black on the underbelly.
Next is Blastoise. marked with a blue dot and much more black under.

Named by our then 6 year old :)

I take it back, these are all Testudo graeca ibera. What I thought was a tail claw may have been just a lighter spot at the end of the tail.
