I have 4 months old Cherry head red foot tortoise named Fudge, have him since he was 1 month with another 9 months old cherry head baby. Recently he is having very moist poop and gets irritated when he tries to defecate. Saw a vet today, he said fudge might have overgrown of flagellates and prescribed a medication. Vet suggested to reduce high sugar diet, and I would like to share Fudge's diet chart and if you guys can point out what's wrong in it.
Monday-> Green leaf lettuce
Tuesday -> Mushrooms
Wednesday -> zucchini/yellow squash
Thursday -> Spring mix/Cactus pad
Friday -> some fruit like mango/papaya/strawberries and some greens
Saturday -> mazuri tortoise pellets
Sunday -> No food day
They are very picky in what they eat.
I sprinkle calcium twice a week and use to vitasafe for their water. Temp -> basking- 90-100F, shade -> 70-80F. Humidity -> 70-80%. I use UVB and reptisun and leave it on for 10-12 hours. Clean water dish is available at all times, in addition with soak in warm/hot water once a week.
I use forest floor and moss for bedding.
