Shell peeling?

Hi All,

My 10 year old Greek tortoise seems to have a small section of his bottom shell that’s peeling a bit. He had a completely clean bill of health from the vet about 3 weeks ago so nothing has been festering for any length of time. His cage is appropriately humid, and I always dry his shell off after a bath. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Thanks!

Looks like some sort of minor injury. . . rat bite, puncture. . . how deep does it go?

Thank you for your reply (a long time ago ?‍♀️)! I’m not sure what it ended up being, but it sealed up on its own. It wasn’t very deep at all. I don’t think it was a bite, but can’t be certain. His primary enclosure is inside. Thank you again!
