Hi

I have a Red Cheeked Mud Turtle "Roger" is his/her name.
I know a little about sexing as I had a female Cooter and a male Map turtle before but sadly they died as I didn't know they couldn't eat goldfish due to vitamin D overdosing :( ... One day I woke up and they had both gone totally insane and within a space of 10 days they were both gone....

So please !!!

Anyone who keeps terrapins and goldfish together..... Separate them now :)

Anyway I digress lol

Roger is now around 7 months old. I got him as an hatchling when he was a very cute 2cm long lol.
He is now around 7cm and extremely healthy, he lives outside in a little pond I built using an INTEX pool 1.22m x 1.22m x 33cm. Spends his days crawling around the bottom and climbing the rockery, he's a happy little chappy.
Or is he???

Hahahaha
So my question is.....

At what age can you determine the sex of a red cheeked mud turtle?

Depends on the size AND age. In my experience you can reliably sex red-cheek mud turtles when they get to be about 3 inches and are 18 months old.
