Hey everyone! This is Morla, my beautiful 1 year old sulcata tortoise. I was wondering if y'all could help me determine what sex it is? Thank you!IMG_9892.JPG Screen Shot 2018-11-07 at 5.26.43 PM.png

Look at Morla’s tail. Short or perhaps a bit nubby may mean a female, if longer tail you can probably assume male. Also look at the notch. Females have a U shape notch, males have more of a V shaped notched. Morla looks super adorable!!

One of the tell-tale physical features I've read is their plastron. If it's concave, it's likely a male. That definition didn't really start to show on my Sulcata until he was over a year old.

And of course then there was the day when he flashed his genitalia (looked like something out of Aliens) and I knew for sure he was a boy.
