Can anyone post a site here that they got their scale from or give me some information on a good scale for a toroise. I want to start weighing Ruby and Dale. I've always used a food scale for Dale because he's bigger, but Ruby's so small it won't work. And please let me know how important it is to weight them and when. Thank you. :)

When your looking for a scale for small tortoises Candy, you want to find one that measures in no more than 1 gram increments (lower than that is better, but the lower the increments the more expensive the scale)
It doesn't matter when you weigh a tortoise, it just matters that you do it the same way everytime.

I bought one from Target - it weighs in 1 gram increments and works great. The only drawback to it is it maxes out at 4000 - so I can't use it for my big boys.

If you don't mind can I ask you what kind it was that you bought and how much was it? :)

I think I bought mine from Target (I can't remember for sure) and it was $24.99
I can't find it on the Target website though.
If you do go to Target.com and type in "digital scale" they have some pretty good scales.

I purchased a decent scale at Harbor Freight for $14.99. It goes up to 20 or 30 lbs I can't remember. It weighs grams and ounces as well.

I figure after 30 lbs, I can use my "human scale" that also weighs kilograms.

Thank you so much for posting that. Did you order only on line or do they have it in the store?

I had to order it online - couldn't find it at the store.

We have a mail scale that I use for Taco. I put her on a plastic plate and then on the scale. It only weighs in ounces so I use an internet calculator to convert to grams.
