This is my buddy,Cyrus. He's a savannah cat, a cross between an African serval and a domestic cat. These pictures are at 16 weeks.

Now he is an awesome looking savannah cat!!!

A friend of mine had 2. Both were closer to house cat size and looked like tabby cats...

Hey! We haven't heard from you in quite a while. I was beginning to wonder if the oil rig swallowed you up.

I love those type cats. If I ever "bought" (as opposed to taking in strays) a cat it would be a Savannah or a Bengal or an Oci cat. Your buddy is beautiful. The little smooshed nose zombie in the back ground is no slouch either.

Figures you'd like that sort of cat. Servals are my favorite african cat. Does this one behave more like a house cat or is he hissy like a serval?

A lot like a housecat in some ways, but he still has a pretty wide wild streak.Unusual habits, almost doglike. He'll play fetch for as long as you want to. Walks on a leash like a dog.Very affectionate and playful.

How is new kitty ?
The Savannahs are huge. How is it's behavior?
Did you hear abour the one that was shot and killed in Detroit. Or was it Chicago? Anyway, it was running the streets and ppl were afraid of it. Left me wondering if someone just turned it loose?!
I have two Bengals and one Bengal/Maine Coon cross. They are all nuts. The breeders lied when they told us they were simply house cats in wild cat clothing. We have had to modify the whole house. No flat surface is safe from their vandalism. They climb to the highest heights. No amount of dbl-sided tape, squirt guns, or air cans stopped them. And I have two cane chairs that are going to require expensive re-caning.
BUT, they are fun and relatively fearless. Lots of personality! They love the dogs, and act a lot like the dogs. One of ours is a retrieving fool, too.

Ann, that first one just makes me want to run my fingers in his/her coat.

Savannahs and bengals were illegal to own in Iowa until mid last year. They are beautiful.

Bengal. I had a savannah several years ago but lived in town and he slipped out the door and was hit. :(
