So I’ve got a RT, quite nice and all, eats from my hand, all that, but the question I’m about to ask will STUN you- HOW DO I TRAIN HIM?! I know, I know. It’s a russian tortoise. Still, there must be some kind of training. Even if you can tell me how to get him to bob his head to music- THAT WOULD BE AMAZING! Please give me tips on training RTs- thank you all very much for answering!

There is a book called "Don't Shoot the dog" by Karen Pryor. Read that book. It explains training in simple and easy to understand terms and exposes the reader to many ways to encourage, or discourage, any behavior.

1) train in the martial arts.
2) get a pet rat. Continue to train in martial arts while the rat watches.
3) get murdered by a jealous rival and break the rat's cage during the scuffle.
4) have a boy drop baby turtles down a sewer drain.
5) have rat and turtles wade through a mutagenic chemical concoction.
6) have rat train turtles in martial arts.

It's a lot of work, but if you manage, you got a big-time franchise with movies and toys galore!
