Product Instructions

Anti-Parasite Meal for Tortoises and Lizards

DIRECTIONS: Spray greens with water so that meal will stick to food. Sprinkle medicated meal on moistened greens and feed exclusively for 3 consecutive days every week for 3 weeks. Allow your pets to consume as much as they want during feeding time. Replace medicated greens daily. Do not use other foods during treatment period. Repeat treatment if signs of illness are still present in your pet, or consult a veterinarian. Repeat whenever a new reptile pet is added to your home. To treat for both bacteria and parasites, use the anti-bacteria formulation first, followed by the anti-parasite formulation. Not recommended as a daily diet after treatment.

The same company also makes an anti-bacterial product.

Thanks for any input.

I have not heard of this before. I am not sure I like giving my torts salt, D3, high protein amount or the animal by products as I have herbivores. But for a few days I do not think it would not harm them. The Fenbendazole is PANACUR which is a broad spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic used against gastrointestinal parasites including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, the taenia species of tapeworms, pinworms, aelurostrongylus, paragonimiasis, strongyles and strongyloides. and Metronidazole is actually FLAGYL which is an antibiotic effective against anaerobic bacteria and certain parasites. Anaerobic bacteria are single-celled, living organisms that thrive in environments in which there is little oxygen (anaerobic environments)

My biggest concern is that Panacur is given by weight.
