Redfoot Tortoise Enclosure half way complete. 3 ft by 8 feet. When I put the roof on the space will 4 feet tall.
I still have to:
put the Back piece of plywood on (having Home Depot cut)
the roof on (already cut just need a 8 foot brace for it)
Plastic sheeting in strips around the sides for insulation.
Almost done.

The tortoises will have to live in here 4-5 months a year.

Questions:
For anyone using clear vinyl as the see through wall what thickness are you using? Is 4mil okay?
Any suggestions on a Space heater inside? It only gets down to about 60 in my garage. Garage is also insulated.
What are you all using to humidify an area like that?

I think that your enclosure is going fantastic.....I believe that folks use plexiglass for the viewing part of the enclosures....

You may want to try to use a radiator type heater to avoid drying out the space as well as the cost for continuous operation would be much more desirable...

Yeah these heaters are on sale at Home depot for $49 http://amzn.com/B000TGDGLU . They are suppose to not dry out the air.

I figured a warm air humidifier from Walmart also.

Why would I need a Heated Food Dish? The enclosure will always be 80.

Heat dish, it's a $50 heater for humans. From what I recall its name was Heat Dish. So it's not for feeding... :)

That's hilarious. I was thinking why does the food need to be heated now.
