Hello! I’m getting a new Russian Tortoise in a couple days and I read that it’s a good idea to quarantine it. However, should I use paper towels as substrate to look for any mites or parasites while quarantining?

You don't need to quarantine the Russian since he won't be with the turtles

Since your new Russian tortoise will be set up in his own habitat/enclosure, he will be considered to be "in quarantine."
