Hi,

I have a young red footed tortoise (weighs 150gm) who is healthy and growing rapidly. Following recomendations from the site I have been feeding it small amounts of protein once a week. Could someone help and tell me the quantity of protien I should be providing e.g. as much as the tortoise can eat in one sitting, a couple of grammes etc.

Thanks in advance

Simon

I personally don't feed a lot of protein.
Maybe once every few weeks as part of the meal.
Certainly as part of the meal more often would also be ok.
Try not to make it the ENTIRE meal for any length of time.

For a tortoise that is 150g I would do about what fits in a spoon.

Thanks, I am feeding about a teaspoon full once a week. Looks like it might be better to reduce this to one every two weeks?
