Woke up this morning to find that my Powersun burned out. Pet stores don't open for another 2 hours, at which time I'll get a new one.

For now I have a 60 w incandescent in there for light and am monitoring temps.

Is this an acceptable fix to hold things over a couple hours?

Yes it will be fine. It's not like you have that light on 24/7. Just do what you use for night temps.

When you get a new lamp buy two so next time you can fix it without missing a beat.

It is always good practice to have backups for everything. I have multiple enclosures and have back ups for each consumable item in each enclosure. If everything went bed at the same time, I'd have it covered. Start making your own backup supply box.

Back in action. Thanks for all the input.
Fortunately the bulb that went out is under warranty so I'm sending that in for a new one which will become my backup.
