So I'm starting to think that my Leopard is a hybrid. He is growing at a much faster rate than I would have expected a babcocki to grow. Here is his growth chart since I got him. Does this look out of the ordinary for a babocki?

5/20/11 70g
6/19/11              102g            3"
6/29/11              107g
7/5/11                109g
7/12/11             119g
7/24/11              128g
8/1/11                143g           3  1/2"
8/4/11                152g
8/26/11              168g
9/3/11                181g
10/11/11             208g        4"
11/2/11               238g
11/18/11             247g
12/12/11             253g

Really can't tell by growth or weight. Too many variables. Have we seen pics?

I'm 99.9% sure you've got a babcocki...nothing about the photo you posted before indicates any different. Just write off his growthto optimum conditions...nice work!

Babcocki it is. Thanks for the quick replies. He's just been growing way quicker than I was expecting and I had no background on the parents.

Great record keeping! My leopard hatchling is around the same size as yours what was it's hatch date? I notice my Leo gain's 4-8 grams a week.

How much and often do you feed it?
Remember the more they eat the faster they grow.

He gets fed once a day. I rotate dandelion greens, mazuri, and cactus. I noticed the largest weight gains when I have him outside and he has access to weeds and grass all day long.

So interesting. Many people observe faster growth outside while others, like me, observe slower growth outside and faster growth inside.

Hmmm...
