The vet said I should see improvement not in three days but by the fouth or fifth. She said if they don't show some improve in seven in days she would suggest I see a specialist.
I will be at the CTTC meeting on Friday and I will be asking several of the members where they take their torts.
But I truly hope that the Baytril works its magic.

Thanks for the kind words everyone

Would you by chance know the site's www address?

Thanks:D

OK, I'm bad (and your a good tort owner) there is no WTTC that's why you couldn't find it (sorry) Mine is the CTTC so I thought there should be a World Tortoise & Turtle Club
But here is The link of a list of Turtle & Tortoise Organizations (the last is in Europe)
http://www.species.net/Reptiles/Tort/Tort.html

Even if you are an outgoing typer and not speaker perhaps others in your area are interested in the speaking part?

The meetings I go to are once a month. They are fun and everyone is there to talk tort or turts. and it is so nice to have people who you can just talk tort to and who understand and are as crazy as you are about their Chelonians. We invite Speakers Like the Muzuri Sales rep, A lady (cant remember her name) who took a trip to Japan and visited some tort group there. Someone who went to the Galapagos gave a talk and had a slide show-Yes just ordinary people who took a trip. Great Presentation just hearing about their adventures and seeing tort pics. This Friday we are having a Christmas Pot Luck I have been asked to bring Comet with me as I have one of the more exotic breeds in my club and a lot of them have never seen a baby Greek . So I will be giving an informal talk on how I found Comet. We have a meeting 2 times a year where the club members bring their torts and turts and put up displays and educate and inform people about their breed. Someone brings baked goods and sells them and all the proceeds goes into a fund which is used to run the group and we have a jar for donations for sick and injured torts.
Hope this info helps alittle.

OK, I have taken Ajax and Echo to a specialist twice now and I am starting to see results. This new vet did a culture and we found they had three different pathogens of moderate growth.
1) Chryseobacterium Spp.
2) Coagulase Negative Staph
3) Enterococcus Species

The good news is that the Baytril will treat them all. So its on with the shots for now. But Ajax’s appetite has picked up and he is more active but still has a bit of a runny nose and Echo is showing no signs of RI but I will still be treating her for one.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words and thoughts

I am glad to hear that everyone is getting better. That had to be very unnerving! Glad your wish was granted!

Not to be too nosy, but what did they culture?
Just in case we run in to this in the future...sometimes you need to know what to ask for:)

Have you noticed any gut upset from the shots?

Hope they are back to vigorous health soon:D

He took a swab of his stomach and a dab from his nose.
The results showed aerobic bacterias so I would assume that is what he cultured for. It also showed what meds these were resistive too and which they were sensitive too.

No gut upset from the shots and they have been getting them once a day for two weeks, now I will give it to them once every 48 hours.
I have not noticed any negative effects so far. My vet said he perfers the shots as they do not cause the stomach upset that oral meds do. But Baytril is a painful shot and can cause some distruction to the tissue. So I try not to give it in the same or even near the same location.

The only difference I have noticed is that they are more active and eating more. Ajax is even getting cheeky with poor Echo now. Must be feeling MUCH better.
