Hi everyone. I'm reposting this in a different topic because I didn't get any replies or info the first time. Please please help!

I Identified some plants and weeds using and app and then did some research and found them edible for my leopard tortoise.

However I would love some advice and input from people here in case I've messed up. (I got different answers as well to confuse me further) I've been feeding these to my baby for about a week now and he's been fine but I still wanna double check cause I'm paranoid like that.

I feed him hibiscus as well which I know I'm sure about so I'll not post that but for the rest I'll post some pics and the names I found for it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

1. Lactuca serriola L. - Milk thistle. I tend to take as little of the yellow flowers and leaves as I can because this one was one of the confusing ones

2. Some kind of zinnia. Either Dahlia flowered zinnia, Mexican zinnia, Peruvian zinnia or Narrowleaf zinnia. It's another confusing one.

3. Britton's wild petunia or Minnieroot but most probably Brittons wild petunia.

4. Tridax procumbens - Now for this one the confusing part is some places said it shouldn't be fed to my leopard tort some said its fine. I've tried to add as many pictures including both of the leaves and flowers. Sorry they are many incase its not visible.

5. A kind of amaranth- This one I haven't fed my baby but saw it and was wondering if it can be fed to him.

I've also posted the pictures as attachments so they can be opened.

Number two are definitely pix of zinnias. There are all types of zinnias and can be fed...

You have done a good job already id’ng what you have/know. If you can’t ID, it’s best to just not feed....

And No 3 does look like the Wild Petunia in both the flower and stalks..

Thank you so much for the reply. What about the 1st and 4th one? Is it okay to feed him that?

I’m not really sure at all, so can’t comment. It’s easier not to feed until you are pretty certain. No 4. does look like it’s in that Amaranth family.

Good luck with hr tort.

The wild petunia is safe, but I only feed the flowers. My tortoises don’t seem to like the leaves. Zinnia is supposedly edible but none of my tortoises will touch it, so I don’t bother. Maybe it’s just that I offer them far tastier weeds.

Thank you so much for the reply. Lucky youuu! I've been feeding him these and he loooooooves them. It looks like he finds them really tasty. I still however will stop feeding him the ones that haven't been confirmed over here and also look for better and tastier weeds and plants. He deserves it all ?
