I know a few posts already exist about this but me and my vet are both puzzled...

I have a 4yo female Hermann. We live in the SW of the UK. A few months ago I noticed she had pink areas on her under plastrom which got worse (mainly up the middle of her shell). He gave her antibiotics (a few days treatment) which seemed to work but it got a bit worse again a couple of months later, so I took her back for another set of doses.
This was about a month ago.
It's not worse but it's not cleared up totally either.
Generally it looks like it runs in lines and when you press on the pink area it disappears (blood vessels?) Although it seems like it may also be on another part of her underside on the bottom left.

She eats, sleeps, poops and drinks ok. She is active and her eyes are clear. I feed her a good variety of weeds and flowers with some kos lettuce and occasional tomato/banana treats. She also has cuttlefish and I have recently started giving her calcium powder too.

She hibernated over winter in a fridge, she was indoors in topsoil/sand mix with UV basking lamp in spring, and now that it is summer, she is outside all day/night.

I don't have a specialist tort vet near me and my vet (who owns a tort) doesn't think it's shell rot and can't be sepsis as she's had it for several months. He wonders if her blood vessels are just close to her shell??

Sorry for the long and rambling info but I'm hoping someone has experience of this happening and it clearing up... or not.

I feel like a terrible mum!
(Pic attached as it is now.. not very visible!)

Thanks in advance! X

That's just new growth your seeing, sometimes you can see the pink line down the middle, perfectly normal. Don't ever go back to that VET.

Really? Even though it turns from pink to white when you press it?! Just had the signs of it being an infection!
Thank you!
