Here is the second 4 inch Aldabra, active, eating lots and less skittish than the other. I feel this is a male and his character is awesome. Bulldozes when he feels like it. Doesn’t always win.

Any comments on pyramiding or oddities in appearance welcomed! Thanks

I haven’t named either yet, debate is ongoing

Thanks AlaskaMike, is that a split rear scute or something similar? Is that an imperfection. I've not really looked at them so closely until uploading these photos.

Perfection is way overrated :). Let’s just say it is unique. Makes him distinguishable & individual.

Causes absolutely no problems.

Weighed in today at 196g and length is approx 4.2 inches, maybe a little less. No idea if this is normal weight length ratio.

Weighed in post bath at 201g today.... This guy is much less skittish around us than the other aldabra. He will run away, but stop if food is in his way or is more likely to not run very far, up a wall and then flip on his back ten times. Yes, they really do this over and over again. Its like a bad verison of groundhog day. They can literally end up vertical and up a wall and then we just wait for gravity to take them out. They look so humiliated when we have to walk over and flip them back over :). They sort of freeze and eye you over as you reach down to turn them rightside up.

Photo taken today

Anyone else care to comment and educate me a bit on what I’m looking at pls feel free.

5B2C51E1-D7B4-4C41-A548-8E63E59E57FB.png Here I blew up part of your torts caprice. Those gray lines will widen for a time , then if you keep watching will narrow and darken on the outside first as the new keratin Darren’s into permanent part of shell.

The time it takes varies dependent on many factors. There is no right answer.

Yours is so young now , no reason to believe any signs of pyramiding will still exist in a few short years.

Those grey lines look like rubber filler, silicon used to waterproof a bathroom :)... They will harden eventually from the outside and then inwards?

My humidity sitch is totally out, they are in 40-50 percent humidity at best. I'm going to deal with that somehow. Thank you for such a positive response @Alaskamike
