Penis or Prolapse? - Is Sylvia okay?

Hello, we've just registered because we're a little worried about our little Russian, Sylvia.

She has been passing some hard urates recently (potentially bladder stones?) and has recently been prolapsing. We took her to the vet and he gave us some reptoboost to mix into her baths and told us to 'give it a couple of week'.

We have been bathing her twice daily and the urates seem to have softened up a little, however she is still prolapsing regularly. We now think that Sylvia might in fact be a boy... but could anybody confirm this?

Should we be worried?

Is there anything else we could be doing to make sure he/she is okay??

Thanks

Congrats, Sylvia is a male. That’s just his penis, with time it will grow and get longer. At one point it may get as long as his whole body.

If that is indeed what you are seeing every time then it isn’t a prolapse. For the urates, make sure he has access to water 24/7 and is getting a nice warm soak daily for about 30 minutes. That should help. His diet may be a contributing factor to his urates.

Thank you for the advice. You have put our minds at ease somewhat - is it normal to pop out every time he has a bath? - it seems very strange calling him a him!

Thanks again :)
