There are some growing wild near the marsh-swampy area down the hill from me, and was wondering if anyone use's the leaves from a paper mulberry for food ,They are much bigger than the leaves I get from the mulberry trees here at the house. What I read about them is that they are an invasive, water sucking tree, that can be sexed by the shape of the fruit. If the leaves are OK to feed it is another variety of food for the tortoises. I had no idea there were so many different types of mulberry. Len

This tree is sometimes referred to as the deer tree because deer eat the leaves and tender shoots. The fruit is also edible.
