We have a pancake tortoise that hasn't eaten in about four days. She seems to be sleeping a lot and isn't as active as she usually is. Given the chance, she'll go into a dark shoe closet and sleep there.

Her enclosure is about 100 degrees on the warm side and 80 on the cool side. We've had her for about a little over a year. She's an only child.

She doesn't have any obvious symptoms. She doesn't seem to have a problem breathing; no front arm "bellowing" movement, no bubbles at the nose. No prolapse. No crusts on eyes or nose. No bad smell. No blood. Her eyes aren't sunken. She looks healthy; she's pretty strong when she wants to be. She's just lethargic and not eating. We're worried. Should we be?

A pic of the enclosure would help. Looks like she has carpet as a substrate which is not appropriate.
@Will might be able to help further but more pics and details of light/bulbs, substrate and diet is needed.

That's good except it's very dangerous for them to wonder our rooms. We have seen many injured or sick torts because they wondered the house. Keep her in a proper sized enclosure indoor and outside is nice to have too and she will be just as happy.

We’re very careful when she’s wandering about the house. Outside isn’t an option in cold San Francisco. Do you have any advice about her lethargy and not eating?

Every parent is careful ! But then the doorbell rings , phone rings . It was only a minute . Torts that aren’t eating will taste test everything dust , carpet fuss ,Evan a back of a earring maybe a electric cord . It’s safer to keep the tort in its enclosure and safe .

It's getting to be winter season, your tort could be slowing down/not eating as much due to environmental conditions. Mine has been acting similar during this time of the year, but not so much since we live in Southern California.
