Hello! I have not been on for awhile, but am struggling with an overgrown beak on my seven year old tortoise. He usually goes to the reptile veterinarian once a year for a trim. He has always had UVA/UVB lights and proper diet for his species. I feed him weeds and greens in full pieces on slate tiles and he does have cuttlebone and calcium, so not exactly sure why his beak grows so quickly. I have a Dremel and have used it before, but I am concerned about the long sides of his beak. I am comfortable trimming the front, but the veterinarian has never done anything about those areas towards the back of his upper beak. They seem to come down in points. Should I try to file those down?
