The fact you say it took 10 years though, this makes me wonder….Didn't Chris Hagen just hatch his first one after having his adults for I believe longer then that? I guess spinosa just take a very long time to settle in before producing fertile eggs? Very interesting.

The article said "...this species is notoriously difficult to breed in captivity and only a few institutions have succeeded.." It goes on to name 2 institutions in the U.S. And 1 in Europe.

Thanks so much! I'm still happy with this turtle two weeks in. It started feeding last week on mazuri aquatic turtle diet and has interest in live redworms.
