Hi there. I have cherry heads and red foots that are now around 7-8 years old and I would like to build some outdoor space for the summertime. We would like to add a water feature for soaking but are unsure how deep we should go. One of mine is pretty dumb (love him though!) and is prone to flipping himself (I have seen him do it - it's not his roommates). Any suggestions on how to make this safe?

When I had mine for my leopard, he was young, I made a bowl like cement feature with a gradual slant to the center. The center was of course the deepest and I filled it just enough to go past the place the two shells meet. Being cement, if he were to flip, he could have used the ruffness of the cement to right himself. Otherwise add heavy rocks, so they have something to grip a foot onto too right themselves.
